GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A push today to end federal contracts at a company where its union workers have been locked out of their jobs.
For the past four months, Honeywell Aerospace has been using non-union workers to keep work going.
Since May 9th, 41 employees have been off the job at the Green Island facility after refusing increased health care costs and eliminations of their pensions.
They are members of the United Auto Workers Local 1508.
Wednesday’s noon rally will be outside of the O’Brien Federal Building, pushing for a recently renewed DOD contract to be suspended until the lockout is over.
