Calling for an end to violence, ceremony held in memory of Medina Knowles

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — This weekend, a community dealing with the loss of a young mother will come together and demand an end to violence.

17-year-old Medina Knowles was shot and killed in Schenectady last week.

19-year-old ReaQwan Stover is now charged with first degree murder.

Neighbors told NEWS10 ABC that the death of the young mom was devastating, and now, a call to end violence in the electric city.

On Saturday, people will gather in solidarity on Schenectady Street at 8 p.m. for a “Light the Street” ceremony in Knowles’ memory.
