TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say two men were arrested for allegedly stealing diapers from Walmart so they could sell them in Troy. They were also found with hard drugs on them.
Authorities arrested 30-year-old Donald Daniels Jr. of Clifton Park and Scott Monroe Jr. of Watervliet for Petit Larceny, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
Daniels was also arrested for Criminal Impersonation in the second degree.
A trooper says he saw the two men pushing a shopping cart which had several boxes of diapers inside on Hoosick Road in Brunswick.
The Trooper stopped and questioned the pair who admitted to stealing the diapers from the Brunswick Walmart. They also say they were walking to Troy to sell the diapers.
The two were taken into custody and a search revealed Monroe to be in possession of some cocaine and Daniels was found with a small amount of heroin.
They were transported to the Brunswick barracks for processing. Daniels identified himself with a false name but a fingerprint check revealed his true identity.
They were arraigned in the Town of Brunswick Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail on $250 bail.
