Queensbury woman accused of driving 2x’s over legal limit, crashing into utility pole

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Officials say a woman is accused of driving two times over the legal limit after hitting a telephone pole with her car.

Authorities say 58-year-old Debra McHale of Queensbury was arrested for Aggravated DWI late Saturday evening after she crashed her car.

Police were called to the area of Haviland Rd. near Meadowbrook Rd. at approximately 10:55 p.m. after neighbors reported hearing a vehicle crash into a utility pole.

Investigation found that McHale had been drinking alcohol earlier in the evening. Police say she failed standardized sobriety tests and was placed under arrest forDWI.  Further investigation found that McHale’s BAC was .18%, over twice the legal limit, making the charge Aggravated DWI.

McHale was not injured in the crash. She was released and is due to return to the Town of Queensbury Court on a later date.
