Police solve larceny investigation after man caught looking into parked cars

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Authorities say a man is accused of looking into parked cars at 4 o’clock in the morning and being in possession of stolen property out of Washington County.

Officials say they were called to Katherine St. around 4 a.m. for a person on a bicycle looking into, and possibly entering parked cars.

They say a witness provided a description of the suspect and then 21-year-old William Woodard of Queensbury was found nearby, riding his bike.

Police interviewed him and found out he’d stolen property out of a car in the Spring Brook Apartments parking lot in Hudson Falls.  He had the item on him.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified and they were conducting their own investigation into the larceny from the vehicle in their jurisdiction.

Mr. Woodard was released and is due to return to the Town of Queensbury Court on a later date.

was arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth degree early Sunday morning following a report of suspicious activity on Katherine Street in Queensbury.
