Albany man arrested in connection with Second Street shooting

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — An Albany man has been arrested in connection with last week’s shooting on Second Street in Albany.

Albany Police arrested 33-year-old Oshapha Murray on Friday evening after officers stopped him on Myrtle Avenue and say they found him in possession of a loaded 9m handgun, heroin, and ecstasy pills.

Police say Murray approached two men on the 300 block of Second Street on Tuesday September 13, and mugged them while displaying a firearm. During the theft, police say Murray shot one of the men in the leg.

Murray was arrested on multiple weapons and drug charges. He was also cited for using a mobile phone while driving.

Murray was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
