DURHAM, N.H. (NEWS10) — The University of New Hampshire recently received a very generous donation, but some are not happy with where some of the money is going.
The $4 million gift came from a former university librarian who donated his estate to the school.
Robert Morin worked at the university for nearly 50 years.
The school announced that it would use $1 million of his donation to buy a giant video board at their stadium, but not everyone is a fan.
“That money could go towards lowering the cost of education or maybe toward their capital drive for new STEM buildings,” Governor Maggie Hassan said.
The university says it’s not changing its decision.
It also announced that $2.5 million will go towards building a new career center.
