Police: Fultonville man arrested on animal cruelty charges, admitted to shooting neighbor’s dog

FULTONVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Fultonville man was arrested on animal cruelty charges after officials say he admitted to shooting his neighbor’s dog.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says it received a complaint on Saturday, 9/17, that Johnsie R. Mcguire III had shot his neighbor’s dog three-year-old shepherd mix dog with a rifle.

Officials say the bullet struck the dog on its right side.

While interviewing Mcguire, officials say he admitted to shooting the dog for being on his property and disturbing his animals.

Mcguire was processed at the Montgomery County Sherif’s Office and has been issued a ticket to appear in the Town of Charleston Court in October.
