TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Classic cars, hot rods, and motorcycles hit the streets on Sunday, all to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Drivers put the pedal to the medal, showcasing their rides while being escorted by local sheriff departments.
The event was held by Callanan Industries, and was inspired by an employee’s battle with lymphoma.
“We had an employee who was having a tough time, was just diagnosed with an illness, just lost his mother-in-law to leukemia six months earlier, so we reached out to him and he said, ‘Yeah, that would be great,’ so we are doing to through Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and hopefully we are going to give them a big check,” said a Callanan official.
The event is expected to raise over $10,000.
