PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) – A police officer in Pittsfield has been fired following an internal investigation.

Police say Dale Eason was let go on Wednesday for what Chief Michael Wynn is calling “multiple misconduct” charges.

Chief Wynn released a statement saying:

“Service as a police officer requires a high degree of public trust. On those rare occasions, as is the case here, that trust is violated, severe sanctions must be imposed.”

Eason marked his 20th year anniversary with the department back in April.
