FAA: Don’t use Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on planes due to fire risk

WASHINGTON (CNN) – The FAA is warning flyers not to use their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones on planes.

The warning comes after Samsung’s recall over complaints that batteries were catching fire.

The company said a week ago it was stopping sales of the phones and would recall 2.5 million of them in 10 countries.

The FAA doesn’t want passengers to turn on or charge the Note 7 phones while onboard planes.

It also doesn’t want people to stow them in any checked baggage.
