According to the Connecticut State Police Facebook page, troopers were called to the side of I-91 near exit 21 to provide assistance to a hawk strolling along the shoulder. Drivers were confused and worried about its well-being.

The Connecticut DOT and Environmental Conservation Police took the hawk under their wing and protected it from being hit or run over by a car.

They say no “fowl” play is suspected in the case ;).

The Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) will be giving the hawk whatever it needs so it will be able to fly again.

Thank you State Police!
