Police arrest man accused of stealing, damaging American Flags

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New York State Police arrested a man they say stole and damaged several American flags in the Accord area of Rochester.

Police say since July 9, Christopher Delamater, 31, stole and desecrated the flags, damaged sections of the fence the flags were hung on and damaged Donald Trump For President signs.

Delamater was arrested Tuesday and charged with 4th degree criminal mischief, petit larceny, making graffiti, and trespass.

Police say their investigation found that the same suspect was involved in all of the incidents.

Delamater was arraigned and remanded to Ulster County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash bail/$4,000 secured bond.

New York State Police was assisted by members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department during the investigation.
