ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Work continues around the clock on that sinkhole in Albany that swallowed someone’s car.
The Albany Water Department says they’re hopeful that they can wrap up work on South Lake Avenue and Elberon Place by Labor Day.
On Wednesday crews are preparing to install a second liner on the upstream pipe there. They managed to install the downstream liner last Friday.
Then they have to install some storm pipes and replace the water main itself
The Department’s commissioner says repairs are estimated to cost close to $1.5 million.
They’re hoping to have those repairs complete by Labor Day.
