RENSSELAER, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Rensselaer High School is getting ready for the 2016 football season.
The Rensselaer football team missed out on the playoffs last year but not by much. The Rams finished the regular season with an overall of 4-3, but they only won two games against divisional opponents.
Senior running back and middle linebacker Davontae Forman is confident his squad is playoff bound this year. He said the Rams have the team chemistry they lacked in 2015.
Their chemistry can complement Rensselaer’s recipe for success, according to head coach Joel Preston.
“We have to be able to run the football,” he said. “It pretty much begins and ends there.”
“Our offensive line is shockingly very good, and we’re all a unit together for once,” Forman said. “Better than last year. We’re stronger, together, and we’re ready to play.”
“Strong line and strong backfield helps,” Preston added. “Again, controlling the clock and turnovers is gonna be huge.”
