ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – New York’s Conservation Chief is questioning the effectiveness of recently completed dredging of the Hudson River.

Commissioner Basil Seggos is saying unacceptably high levels of industrial waste were left behind.

In his opinion, the Federal Environmental Protection Agency needs to re-evaluate the 6-year dredging project and include objective analysis of fish, water and sediment data in its ongoing review.

The EPA says it will review and consider any new information, noting that New York had agreed with the cleanup plan.
