COLONE, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Pokemon Go is sweeping the nation and now one local mall is joining in on the fun.
Colonie Center decided to celebrate the popular “Pokemon Go” mobile app by decking out its lobby with team banners and video characters.
When Colonie Center saw a tremendous response to the popular app, they knew right away that they had to do something.
Normally a place where players can battle for rewards. However, it’s not an actual gym, but it is getting positive feedback from both players and businesses.
“I can hear people down in center court say it’s here, we found it,” Susan Spaccarelli, Marketing and Business Development Manager, said. “Our traffic has climbed steadily. Our retailers have also seen a lot of increased business from this as well.”
The mall is also a great place to collect Pokemon characters. In the month of August, secret Pokemon trainers are handing out prizes to people interacting with the display and a chance to win a $500 shopping spree.
