Three men charged with robbery after holding cashier at gun and knife point at Claverack gas station

CLAVERACK, NY (NEWS10) – On August 12, New York State Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston barracks concluded a multi-agency investigation that was conducted with the Columbia County Sheriff’s and the City of Hudson Police Department which has led to the arrest of three Columbia County men following an armed robbery reported from a Sunoco gas station in Claverack.

On August 11, 22-year-old Jonathan Garcia of Hudson was arrested and charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree. On August 12, 19-year-old Charles Corey and 22-year-old Roberto Guerrero, both of Hudson, were charged with robbery in the 1st Degree, a Class B Felony.

Garcia, Guerrero, and Corey were all arraigned in the Town of Claverack Court and remanded to Columbia County Jail without bail.

They are due to return to the Claverack Justice Court on August 17.

Senior Investigator William Mulrein stated, “These arrests can be directly attributed to the inter-agency cooperation between all of the police departments involved. Additionally, the information and leads provided by members of the
community were crucially important to the success of this investigation.”

The State Police were assisted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Hudson Police Department, and members of the public.
