(NEWS10) – Rensselaer County Sheriff’s announced the results of the 2016 Marijuana Eradication Detail for Rensselaer County.
The Sheriff’s Office teamed up with the New York State Police CNET and Aviation Units, New York State Environmental Conservation officers, Rensselaer County Probation officers and the Counter Drug Aviation Unit.
Over 600 Marijuana plants were harvested from various locations in the Towns of Brunswick, Sand Lake, Poestenkill, Nassau, Petersburg and Hoosick.
“I would like to thank our law enforcement partners for assisting us in this operation. These days, our primary effort is focused on opiate investigations; however, a marijuana eradication detail is critical to reduce the amount of marijuana that can be harvested and ultimately make its way into our community,” said Sheriff Russo.
Sheriff Russo encourages anyone with information on drug activity to call the County Drug Tip Line at 270-0128.
