HUDSON, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A man involved in a crash on the Rip Van Winkle Bridge last month is now facing several charges.
Edward Murphy, 59, is charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, vehicular assault, and other charges.
He was arraigned and released.
The crash happened on the bridge on July 7.
Police say Murphy was driving erratically, crossed the center line, and hit a pickup truck head-on.
The driver of the truck was flown to the hospital and her passenger was taken by ambulance.
Both were seriously injured and are now recovering.
