SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Live strong, live fun – that’s not only the name of an event but the motto of a wellness program for adult cancer survivors.
The Saratoga Regional YMCA held its third annual fundraiser for the program that uses physical activity to help survivors move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body.
Cindy Swadba is co-chair of the fundraiser and also a breast cancer survivor who participated in the program while she was going through chemotherapy.
She says it helped her immediately.
“I owe a great deal to the people before me who thought that this program was necessary and had a vision. I would never have expected that I would have been in the program, no one does, but I’m grateful for the people before me who thought about this.”
The program is free of charge and is available to cancer survivors 18 years or older in the Saratoga Regional YMCA community.
