TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Tri-City has been entertaining Houston Astros General Manager, Jeff Luhnow over the past couple days.
Luhnow, who’s in his fifth season with the Astros, has visited the Capital Region every year since being hired.
The GM says he knows how valuable the ValleyCats have been to the Astros organization, seeing as ten of the current 25 players in Houston spent time in Troy.
“For them to recognize how important development is in the Astros organization, we have a lot of rookies on our team right now,” said Luhnow. “We have eight rookies on our team and that doesn’t even include Carlos Correa, who’s the youngest player on our team. And these guys all have a chance to get there someday. And I think hearing that message, directly from me, is important in keeping them motivated.”
