AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The finishing touches are being made on a new pedestrian bridge in the Capital Region.
On Wednesday, workers hoisted the lettering into place at the Mohawk Valley Gateway Overlook Pedestrian Bridge in Amsterdam.
The bridge is still under construction and is expected to wrap up around Labor Day weekend.
Construction of the bridge began on the bridge in 2014.
The bridge, which goes over the Erie Canal, connects the City of Amsterdam’s north and south sides. The bridge is designed to create a park-like environment over the river for visitors and residents to enjoy.
