WASHINGTON (NEWS10) – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Lorex is recalling about 26,000 video baby monitors over a possible burn hazard.
According to Lorex, the video monitor’s batteries may overheat, swell, and expand, causing the battery cover to open or come off. This can expose hot batteries, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
The recall involves Lorex Care ‘N’ Share video baby monitors. The model numbers include WL3520, WL4320, and WL3401. The model numbers can be found on the back of the monitors.
The company says it has received 488 reports of batteries overheating and expanding and about 140 reports of the battery pack swelling. No injuries have been reported.
The affected products were sold at Babies “R” Us, B&H, Best Buy, Target, The Home Depot, Walmart, amazon.com, and lorextechnology.com from May 2013 – April 2016.
Consumers should stop using the affected products and contact Lorex at 844-265-7388 to receive a full refund.
