CLEVELAND (NEWS10) – A billboard showing Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump and former Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz has gone up outside of the Republican National Convention.
The billboard has been put up by non-profit organization called Planting Peace.
Planting Peace says they are calling for the immediate change in the Republican Party platform in how it regards LGBT family and LGBT rights.
“LGBT children hear messages telling them they are nothing but second class citizens and are left feeling somehow broken or ‘less than,’” Planting Piece said in a blog post. “We challenge the GOP to think about how many times their children could hear messages like these and not be impacted or question their value and worth?”
The group says they want action that brings full fundamental rights to the LGBT community, and a narrative that empowers LGBT people to live and love freely.
CNN reports that ads are being placed around the region to sway voters, including ones focusing on issues and candidates.
Organizations are paying as much as $12,000 to get their message out and space is sold out through the rest of the month.
