NY Elite FC 1997/1998 Boys Win Top NPL Spot and Head to 2016 US Club Soccer NPL Finals

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. — NY Elite FC, a premier youth soccer club in the Capital District region of upstate New York, is extremely pleased to report that their 1997/1998 boys have secured the 2016 New York Club Soccer League (NYCSL) U18 National Premier League (NPL) title.

The team’s regular season record was 7-1-1, totaling 22 points, a first place finish which qualified them to compete in the US Club Soccer NPL Finals to be held July 14-18, 2016 in Aurora, Colorado.

This is the first NPL title for this core group of boys who have been with NY Elite FC since the club’s inception in 2009, and will be the team’s second trip to Colorado, with their last visit in July 2013 to compete in the US Club Soccer National Cup as a result of winning the Atlantic Soccer League (ASL) U15 Championship.

Team members include: Justin Akin (Schaghticoke), Meyer Aviles (Ballston Spa), Theodore Bruschini (Glens Falls), William Conklin (Clifton Park), Cole Crotty (Queensbury), Connor DeFillipis (Ballston Spa), Noah Grenier (Ballston Spa), Derek Ines (Clifton Park), Matthew JeanPierre (Latham), Christopher Jupin (Rexford), Stephen Klimek (Saratoga Springs), Kyle Landis (Clifton Park), Daniel Laurilliard (Niskayuna), Jerald Lewandowski (Clifton Park), Benjamin Licht (Delmar), Griffen MacWatters (Ballston Spa), Ryan Mattison (Latham), Malik Sykes (Clifton Park) and Lukas Temperine (Clifton Park). Class of 2015 alumni Miles Burbank and Adel Cekic (both of Clifton Park) will also be joining them in the tournament.
