Case against construction workers accused of torturing co-worker for hours adjourned until August

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The case against four men accused of torturing a co-worker for hours at a local motel has been adjourned until August 5.

Dallas Fox, 43, of Hickory, N.C., Michael Grimmett, 32, and Mark Skaggs, 33, both of Ansted, W.Va., were arraigned on one count of 2nd degree kidnapping, one count of 1st degree attempted gang assault, and one count of 1st degree attempted assault charges. All four men pleaded not guilty.

According to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, a grand jury previously returned an indictment against all four men.

The incident happened at the Days Inn on Albany Shaker Road in Colonie on Sunday, June 5. The victim was punched, kicked, stabbed, and was bitten. He had cuts all over his body, including his genital area.

“The main crux of the story is that the suspects were not happy with him about his work ethic, and also some phone calls that he made back to West Virginia to their family about things that they were doing in this area,” Colonie Police Lt. Bob Winn said. “It appears the assault was retribution for those actions by the victim.”

The four men are currently being held at the Albany County Correctional Facility pending bail applications.
