STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man on probation and registered as a sex offender was arrested after driving a vehicle in the Struthers Fourth of July Parade.
Struthers police say they were alerted by a woman, who is also an adult probation officer, that she spotted James Bares, 41, of Youngstown driving a vehicle in the parade, which she believed was a violation of the terms of his parole.
Police contacted Bares’ probation officer who confirmed to police that Bares’ participation in the parade was in violation of his parole.
Officers met Bares at the Struthers Plaza where he was arrested.
He is currently in the Mahoning County Jail.
Bares was convicted in May 2015 of gross sexual imposition. He was released from prison April 13, 2016 and is on parole for five years.
