Cohoes discusses city’s future at open house

COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The public flocked to an open house on Wednesday to comment on the future plans of the city of Cohoes.

Cohoes residents attended the Comprehensive Plan Open House, which provides a roadmap of the city’s future growth, development, achieving financial goals, and enhancing the quality of life.

The event relies heavily on the input of the public, who offer their comment on how the city should be reshaped.

“We’re trying to build a blueprint for the future of Cohoes, and you can’t have a future if you don’t include the people who live here,” Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse said. “It’s not just about elected officials getting together deciding what’s best for people.”

One of topics most commented on was changes to make I-787 safer after a teen girl was hit and killed by a car there in June.
