ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Albany police responded to reports of a car into a building overnight.
NEWS10 crews were at the scene and observed that the car was traveling north on Broadway and ended up nose first into a building on the corner of Broadway and South St.
Another car was slightly damaged in this accident.
Police were attempting to stop Shawn Scarcella of Menands, when police say he crashed into two parked cars and then struck the building.
Scarcella was charged with reckless endangerment, unlawful fleeing an officer, reckless endangerment of property and driving while intoxicated.
He was also cited for reckless driving, no headlights, failure to keep right, speeding, running through a red light, and driving on a sidewalk.
Scarcella was arraigned Sunday morning and remanded to Albany County Jail.
