PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Stanley Wilson II, the former NFL player who was shot by a Portland homeowner, was in court Thursday.
The 78-year-old homeowner reportedly told police he shot at Wilson from inside his home during anattempted burglary on June 22.
Wilson was hospitalized for several days, but appeared in court Thursday facing first-degree burglary and trespassing charges. The DA had dismissed the case initially to review evidence but Wilson faced a nationwide warrant that meant he was immediately taken into custody after leaving the hospital.
Wilson, 33, was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen when paramedics arrived in the 4900 block of SW Humphrey Boulevard, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
Wilson is a Stanford graduate who played for the Detroit Lions for 3 full seasons.
