Sanders: ‘Doesn’t appear I’ll be the nominee’

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Democratic Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders took to C-SPAN Wednesday and said what pretty much everyone already knows, he isn’t going to be the party’s nominee.

Hillary Clinton reached the requisite number of pledged delegates for the nomination earlier this month.

Sanders has still refrained from endorsing her.

After his loss in the final primary contest last week, he pledged to continue his fight to the convention.

His apparent admission of defeat Wednesday came in response to a question about his role in the convention.

“it doesn’t appear that I’m going to be the nominee, so I’m not going to determine the scope of the convention,” Sanders said.

Sanders did vow last week to help Clinton defeat Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.
