Albany Sheriff Deputies set up drug deal, bust pair for selling methadone

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Police say two men are accused of selling methadone in Albany.

Officials say they received information that 36-year-old Frank Burt and 53-year-old Steve Deyo, both of Troy were selling methadone tablets, which are synthetic opiates throughout Albany and Rensselaer County.

Police say on Tuesday June 21 Sheriff’s Investigators purchased 96 tablets of methadone from Burt in the Town of Green Island.  He was found to be accompanied by an associate, Deyo.

Burt was charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a class A-II felony and one count of Conspiracy in the Second Degree, also a felony.

Deyo was charged with one count of Conspiracy in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Facilitation in the Second Degree, both felonies and one count of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a motor vehicle in the Third Degree.

The pair were arraigned in the Town of Green Island Court and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility.

Sheriff’s Investigators were assisted during the investigation by the Green Island Police Department.
