Police rescue several people after three-car crash leaves SUV pinned

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Several people had to be rescued when they became trapped in their car after a three-car accident in Schenectady Sunday afternoon.

Schenectady Police say the three car accident occurred just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of McClellan Street and Nott Street.

Police say the accident left one of the cars, an SUV, pinned on its side between the other two cars. With one side of doors blocked, and the other side in the air, the people inside the pinned car were unable to escape.

First responders helped the driver and three children out of the car through the trunk hatch and side door of the SUV.

Police say one man who sustained a hand injury and three other people were sent to Ellis Hospital as a precaution. Police say the driver of the third vehicle was unharmed.
