Two men arrested on drug and weapons charges in Menands

MENANDS, NY (NEWS10) – On Friday, June 17, New York State Police in Latham arrested 26-year-old Dayvon Sostre of Albany and 28-year-old Nessan Ruffin of Brooklyn for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a weapon following a traffic stop on I-787 in the Village of Menands.

Troopers stopped the vehicle for speeding and the later investigation revealed Sostre and Ruffin were in possession of a quantity of Cocaine, Marijuana, and a loaded .22 caliber pistol within the vehicle.

Sostre and Ruffin were taken to State Police in Latham for further processing and were arraigned in the Village of Menands court and remanded to Albany County Jail.

Both Sostre and Ruffin are being held without bail due to the fact that they both have two prior felony convictions.
