GALWAY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The Evans family from Galway announced Saturday that they will be embarking on another ‘Power to Push’ run next summer, this time the other way across the country.
Last summer, the Evans family ran from the Puget Sound on the coast of Washington, to Pelham Bay in the Bronx, beginning and ending their journey with a dip in an ocean.
The family ran 3,200 miles over the course of 2 months. That’s over 50 miles a day.
Next summer, the Evans family is back at it. They’ll be rolling down the Mississippi from Moorhead, Minnesota to Charles, Louisiana, spreading the gift of mobility and inclusion, and raising money for Ainsley’s Angels of America.
They’re calling the run ‘Power to Push 2’.
Shaun Evans and his 10-year-old son Shamus, will be making the run, followed in an R.V. by Shaun’s wife Nichole and their younger son Simon.
Over the course of the 1,300 miles, the Evans family will make multiple stops to donate Freedom Chairs to families with special needs children.
The Evans family will be ‘rolling with the wind’ starting July 1, 2017.
