ALBANY, N.Y. (ENWS10) – The University at Albany women’s basketball coach hosted a camp for the area’s high school and AAU players.
The girls got the full UAlbany treatment. They ran college drills, played on the SEFCU main court, watched film and toured the locker room.
Coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee said the elite camp is meant for the young ladies to showcase themselves as players both individually and as part of a team.
“I think if you can get a regional kid to stay at home, it helps in a couple different ways,” Coach Mac said. “I think that they’re really gonna bleed purple and gold. And I also think that helps fan base come in cause they’re already gonna have a group of people that support them that’s close by that come to the games. So it works to both benefits. It’s great.”
