Man takes plea deal after 20 year robbery spree

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – A man who used a giant knife in a 20 year robbery spree will be sent to prison after a plea deal.

Heart stopping video shows 47-year-old Christopher Bell wielding a knife while robbing the Citgo Gas Station on Broadway in Schenectady.

Police say he also robbed the H&K Sunoco on Erie Boulevard with a knife.

Bell accepted a deal with prosecutors to serve 12 years to life in prison.

The Schenectady County Assistant District Attorney’s Office says Bell has previous robbery convictions for robbing gas stations in 1997 and 2005. He had a robbery conviction in 1994.
