HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The law firm Weitz and Luxenberg said that it will hold an emergency community meeting in Hoosick Falls over PFOA blood tests.
The dangerous levels of PFOA found in people’s blood samples have exceeded the national average.
“These blood test results confirm what residents had feared – that the contaminated water they were drinking and cooking with has already left its mark,” said Robin Greenwald, head of the Environmental and Consumer Protection Unit at Weitz & Luxenberg.
Based on the test results, Weitz and Luxenberg received, it will expand a complaint filed on behalf of Hoosick Falls residents against Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Corp. and Honeywell International Inc.
The law firm is seeking medical monitoring remedies for Hoosick Falls residents to address the issue.
Attorneys from Weitz & Luxenberg will be at North Hoosick Falls Fire House, 22106 State Route 22, Hoosick Falls, N.Y. 12090 from 2-7 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
The meeting is open to the public.
