DEFREESTVILLE, NY (NEWS10) – On Friday, North Greenbush Police arrested 28-year-old Jacob Sharpe of Petersburgh for several felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an investigation into a domestic incident.
Police responded to a report of a domestic incident at the CDTA Park and Ride on Rt.4 in Defreestville. Upon interviewing the victim and witnesses, it was determined that the altercation was between Sharpe and his girlfriend and that Sharpe had thrown her to the ground in order to steal money from her.
Sharpe had fled the scene prior to police arriving but was then apprehended in the area a short while after with the help of the Rensselaer PD and NYS Police K-9.
Sharpe was charged with Robbery 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny 4th Degree, which are both felonies. Sharpe was also charged with misdemeanor Attempted Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument.
Sharpe was arraigned at North Greenbush Town Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail.
He is due to return to court on June 28.
