(NEWS10) – The 2016 Tour de Cure Bike Rides will start and finish at Saratoga Springs High School beginning at 7am on Sunday morning. The event is scheduled to conclude on Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm. Bike routes include Spa State Park, Malta, Ballston Spa and Greenfield.
Rides are scheduled to exit the high school at the West Ave. entrance at 7:00am, 7:30am, 8:00am, 9:00am, and 10:00am. and proceed along West. Ave. to Route 50 and then to the Avenue of the Pines.
All rides (except the 10 Mile which begins at 10am) will exit Spa State Park via Route 9 (at Crescent Ave).The 10 Mile Ride will loop through Spa State Park and then return to the high school via West Circular Street.
At the start of each ride, drivers should anticipate temporary traffic stoppages on Sunday morning on West Ave. from the high school entrance to Rt. 50 and on Rt. 50 (in both directions) from West Ave. to the Avenue of the Pines.
Congress Ave. (from West Ave. to Ballston Ave) will be closed to thru traffic from 10am to 11:30am.
West Circular St. (near South Franklin St) will experience traffic delays from approximately 10am to 11:30am. Westbound traffic will be detoured to South Franklin St.
Also, West Circular St. (West Ave. to Benedict St) will be CLOSED from 9:30am to 2pm.
Please take this information into account if you plan to be driving on West Avenue near the high school or near the Avenue of the Pines entrances to Spa State Park on Sunday.
And, as always, please exercise extra caution when driving near a group of cyclists.
