SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Supreme Court Justice Vito Caruso will decide whether a special prosecutor should investigate an incident involving Mayor Gary McCarthy and Schenectady Police.
On Thursday, District Attorney Robert Carney confirms to NEWS10 ABC he sent an affirmation to a judge asking him to appoint the prosecutor.
A woman claims Mayor McCarthy followed her in his car to the police station and says he appeared drinking.
McCarthy admits to he followed the woman because he says she was acting suspiciously, but denies he was drunk.
Councilman Vince Riggi requested an outside investigation earlier this week.
