Governor’s office: Hoosick Falls PFOA blood test results to be released

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office said the Hoosick Falls PFOA blood test results will be mailed out Friday morning.

It has been four months since the first group of people in Hoosick Falls had their blood tested, and they still haven’t received their results. They were recently told by someone from the New York State Department of Health that their results would be coming soon.

“The information I can give you today is that the results will be mailed to people, and we anticipate this will be very soon,” she said at the time.

NEWS10 ABC reporter Lindsay Nielsen has called and e-mailed the NYS DOH several times to try and get an answer. On Wednesday, a NYS DOH spokesperson said “results will be out very soon, imminent.”

For many, that answer isn’t good enough. So Lindsay went to the NYS DOH on Thursday to find out how much longer it would take. But no one from the department would speak with her in person.

Lindsay also spoke with some Hoosick Falls residents on Thursday, and they shared what they said the NYS DOH told them.

“Yeah, I called, and they said they lost the things – the blood work – mixed them up,” Melissa Dufresne said.

“There was a mix up, and nobody’s going to get theirs back,” Robert Hudson said. “They lie to people, and nobody’s telling the truth. Everything’s all hush hush.”

Thursday afternoon, the governor’s office contacted Lindsay after her visit to the NYS DOH. His office said they will be mailing out results on Friday, but they didn’t say why it has taken so long.
