‘El Duque’ visits Center for Disability Services in Albany

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – The former Yankees pitcher with the famous leg kick was in the Capital Region on Thursday.

Orlando “El Duque” Hernandez met with consumers from the Center for Disability Services Thursday morning. He met with Langan School students and adult program participants.

Hernandez signed autographs, shook hands, and most importantly, put smiles on everyone’s faces. In a press conference afterwards, he said it reminded him of working with kids in Cuba and Miami.

“He says he loves doing things like this, and it just makes his heart feet better to know that he’s here seeing the children,” his translator said. “He loves doing things like this because it makes his heart feel happy.”

El Duque will be the celebrity guest Thursday night at the center’s Aficionado Experience fundraiser.
