ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Members of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany and local advocacy groups began the final leg in the march for farm worker justice.
The march to support the Farm Worker’s Fair Labor Practices Act started on May 15 in Long Island. The act would grant collective bargaining rights to farm laborers, guarantee they’re provided at least 24 hours of consecutive rest each week, and extend overtime benefits.
Albany Bishop Edward Scharfenberger was one of many people marching in Wednesday’s rally.
