GLEN, N.Y. (NEWS10) –A Fultonville man known locally as a racecar driver at the Fonda Speedway, was arrested last week for DWI and possession of Marijuana.
New York State Police say they took John Michael “JaMike” Sowle, 27, into custody late last week after a Trooper observed him driving erratically on State Route 30A.
During the traffic stop, police say Sowle was found to be in possession of several grams of marijuana, and smoking paraphernalia.
Police say Sowle showed signs of drug impairment and admitted to smoking pot just before he got in the car.
Sowle is known locally as a racecar driver at Fonda Speedway and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park in Montgomery County.
Sowle was charged with Failure to keep right, DWI, and unlawful possession of Marijuana.
He was released to a third party and scheduled to appear in the Town of Glen Court at a later date.
