ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Veterinarians and animal advocates from across New York State are gathering at the Capitol to support a statewide ban of cat declawing.

The bill would only allow for the declawing if medically necessary for the cat, in order to treat an injury or physical illness.

Members of the Paw Project and the Humane Society of the United States met at the Legislative Office Building Tuesday morning.
