Local police officers recognized and awarded for wearing the badge

SARATOGA // SCHENECTADY // ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Local police departments are taking time this week to honor the brave men and women who wear the badge.

An awards ceremony in Saratoga will recognize officers for their exceptional performances and acts of valor from the past two years. That’s happening at 6:00 p.m. on the third floor of City Hall.

Then at 7 p.m. in Schenectady at the Annual Valor Day award ceremony, roughly 50 officers will be honored for their actions in the Electric City.

That’s happening at the GE Theatre inside Proctors.

The Albany Police Department will be recognized at their ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Picotte Recital Hall, Massry Center at The College of St. Rose.

The public is invited to attend all events to watch the police honored for their outstanding service.
