Medical marijuana company starts petition to allow online ads

PERTH, N.Y. (NEWS10) – One of the five companies allowed to grow and prescribe marijuana is continuing its fight to get the word out.

Vireo Health, which is based out of Perth in Fulton County, is taking its battle to get ads online by launching a petition on

The petition asks Google to stop rejecting medical marijuana ads. It currently has over 13,000 supporters with a goal of 15,000.

Google policy does not allow advertisements for medical marijuana even though dispensaries have been open in New York for more than five months.
