ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Assemblyman Jim Tedisco has announces plans to run for NYS Senate.
He’d take over for Senator Hugh Farley, who is retiring after 40 years in office.
Tedisco’s name was immediately circulated as a possible successor, and Farley immediately said he would endorse his fellow Republican.
Chad Putman is the Democratic candidate running for Farley’s seat. He is released this statement:
“With Jim Tedisco, we will have, in effect, Hugh Farley’s 21st term. I believe the 49th New York State Senate district deserves a fresh start. We need new leadership, progressive solutions, and more inclusive representation, and I am confident that I am the right candidate.”
Tedisco held a press conference on Thursday morning about his goals.
